Presented high impact polystyrene (HIPS) is a thermoplastic polymer, obtained by the modification of post-consumer polystyrene, derived from the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Thanks to the use of appropriate modifiers, it is characterized by greater crack resistance under dynamic load compared to low impact polystyrene (GPPS). The impact value of the presented material is 7.5 kJ / m2. In addition, the HIPS material is characterized by good mechanical and thermal properties. Products made of HIPS can be welded, glued, bent hot and processed by machining. Due to its unique properties, this material is commonly used, among others in the advertising and food industries as well as many branches of industry.
